FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do I need to schedule an appointment?
    We recommend that you make a reservation, at least one week in advance, to ensure an appointment is available on the day and at the time you prefer. Appointments can be booked online, or by phone at 1.617.615.3975.
  • As a new customer, what facial service should I choose for my skin treatment needs?
    We recommend booking the most basic facial we offer, the LUMAE Signature Facial, if you are a new customer. Your first facial appointment will include a consultation with our esthetician and you have the option to select an alternate facial treatment, if you choose, at the time of service.
  • What time should I arrive for my appointment?
    We suggest arriving at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment so you have time to park, get settled, and complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Is there public transportation nearby?
    Lumae is located within walking distance from the Newtonville Commuter Rail station.
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
    Since treatments are reserved especially for you, we require at least 24 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. Last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours) and 'no-shows' will be charged in full.
  • What credit cards or payment options do you accept?
    We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards, in addition to debit cards, cash, and checks.
  • How do I purchase a gift certificate or gift card?
    Gift certificates and gift cards are available for purchase in the store, by phone with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover card, and online:
  • Is parking available on site?
    Free 2 hour parking is available on Newtonville Ave. and metered parking is available on nearby Bowers St.
  • What hours are you open for appointments? Do you work on weekends or evenings?
    HOURS Tuesdays: Noon to 7pm* Wednesday: 9am to 5pm Thursday: 9am to 5pm Friday: 9am to 4pm Saturday: 9am to 4pm Sundays: LUMAÉ will open one Sunday per month. Check booking schedule for available hours.* Mondays: Closed. *Note: When LUMAÉ is open on a Sunday, it will be closed Monday and Tuesday of that week.
